Every work begins with the substrate — canvas or waterproof plywood — and builds outward through layers of material that cannot be hurried. Texture paste is applied and sculpted by hand. Resin is poured while liquid and coaxed into form before it sets. Gold leaf is laid at the end, catching whatever light remains.
